How I Overcame One of My Biggest Fears

Peace be upon you, beautiful, shiny human being! Just…smile 🙂

Because…

You have stardust in your bones, you know!

Alhamdulillah! All praise and thanks is for The One. Our Most Generous, Most Beautiful Creator Who Fashioned us so delicately…perfectly, even in our imperfection.

OK, so guess what?! I come bearing BREAKING NEWS.

What I’m about to tell you is something I wish I knew years ago. It would have saved me lots of tear-soaked-pillow nights, pain, (oh-the-pain!!!) and a whole bunch of self-doubt that got in the way of my growth.

Looking back, it just seems so natural. So, I’m going to share the THREE SECRETS to overcoming ANY fear in life, right now. I wish someone was there to tell me this, so here’s to lil’ Mishi –

Repeat this out loud until you absorb it into your being:

ALL fear, except fear of displeasing Our Creator, is FAKE. It simply does not exist. It is all in my head…literally.

This fear that holds me back is just something my ego made up. It wants me to stay in my comfort zone. ‘Cuz that means I’ll avoid pain. And my ego CAN’T STAND pain.

But me? The REAL me…is way more powerful than I can imagine.

The Real me is fearless and brave.

The Real me is light…that overcomes the darkness of my ego!

I CAN overcome any obstacle that gets in the way of my purpose in life.

I WILL replace my fear with faith so my ego can be overcome…by my spirit. I was born FREE.

Here are the 3 steps I used to overcome my fear of the water:

STEP 1: Make your intention pure. Replace your what if with EVEN IF.

Even if I fail, I can try again and again until I win. Which will happen, guaranteed. I will not give up, no matter what!

Celebrate your failures, because it means you’re trying something new! Accelerate your rate of failure for outta-this-world success!

STEP 2: Imagine yourself overcoming the FAKE fear in your head FIRST.

Visualize the pain like white walls that you push through, and keep pushing until you end up on the other side!

(Feel free to squeal with joy as you visualize pushing through your walls of pain)

Then, imagine yourself swimming like a butterfly! Win in YOUR MIND first. You were born to win. Life is short, but ain’t over till you win!

With your eyes closed, say, “Look at Mishi go! Swimming the butterfly, like an Olympic swimmer!

STEP 3: Practice, practice, practice!

If you are afraid of the water like I was, jump right in, every single day!

CONSISTENCY = GOAL ACHIEVED!

This is the method that helped me overcome my life-long fear of the water, and I was able to advance to freestyle swimming in 3 DAYS.
